Minimalist Deck Level Pool

‘Monochrome setting accentuates the colour of water’

The owner of this luxury house in West London had a minimalist theme in mind that the architects were able to capture by the use of monochrome colours and non-cladded walls, with the exception of sauna that is a bespoke creation entirely by us. The challenge was to give this basement with no windows a light and open feel, so we chose the deck level overflow system that removes the level difference between pool water and surround to make the room look bigger.

Location : Mayfair, London.

Project Cost : £175k

Deck level pools in basements

In a basement, every metre counts. A deck level pool needs a balance tank and room for filtration and dehumidification plant, so the plant room is planned alongside the structure, not added later.

With no daylight, the lighting does the work of windows. Underwater and wall lighting are positioned to bring out the colour of the water against the monochrome finishes. The whole room is waterproofed to BS 8102 and coordinated with the structural engineer.
